Choosing the Aldán estuary and its surroundings as a holiday destination is synonymous with guaranteed success. We are convinced of it, the municipality of Aldán is a hidden paradise in Cangas de O Morrazo, formed by six villages that hide many stories to tell: San Cibrán, A Espiñeira, Herbello, O Piñeiro, Gandón or Menduiña; each of them with their stories, their festivals, their carnivals, their people… a group that you have to know and when you do, we are sure you won’t want to leave.
We can propose hundreds of different plans for each day, from the adventure of sailing its seas, exploring its lands or relaxing under the sun on each of its paradisiacal beaches. Sounds good, doesn’t it? What if we start the day with a refreshing swim on the beach of Menduíña, Areacova or Lagoelas? The sea breeze will take hold of you and fill you with energy and vitality that you won’t want to waste. We will continue the day touring a series of more secluded coves such as Areacova or Lagoelas, or the more rugged, such as Arneles or Areabrava.
The appetite is opened, and if there is something that is perceived in Aldán it is the aroma of the tasty gastronomy of the land: lacón with turnip greens, empanada de millo, Galician veal, clams, mussels, fish and seafood from the estuary… if there is something we like to boast it is to be faithful to Galician cuisine, to present and taste quality products and to offer menus that do not go unnoticed by our diners. We know that we will leave a good taste in your mouth, and the table will not lack the red of Donón or the albariño of Hío, next point that we will propose to you to continue our route of the day.
Hío is a very welcoming village in which we will put the cultural note knowing its history through archaeological excavations, deposits or the Romanesque church of San Andrés, recognized throughout Galicia for having in its atrium one of the most important cruises for its size. Continuing our way we arrive at Costa da Vela, where is the Cabo Home Lighthouse, one of the highest in Galicia and where we can appreciate the silhouette of the Cíes Islands, and the immensity of the ocean, the cliffs of Donon, the beach of Melide …
A plan that doesn’t end until the sun goes down, and that extends with all the night events that Aldan and all his people are saving for you. We could tell a thousand and one details, a thousand and one stories, but we want you to see it, feel it, and discover it.
